Simple Asparagus Salad


 

Prebiotic foods contain fibre that serves as food for beneficial bacteria in the gut. Examples of prebiotic foods include onions, garlic, asparagus, and bananas. Here's the first in a regular series of tasty recipes designed to promote a healthy gut microbiome



Simple Asparagus Salad:

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch of asparagus, trimmed and washed

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.

  2. Arrange the asparagus on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.

  3. Roast in the oven for 10-15 minutes, until tender.

  4. Remove from the oven and drizzle with balsamic vinegar.

  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Serve with shaved Parmesan cheese, if desired.
